Model Faculty Development and Evaluation Plan

This page contains the  model plan developed by the Faculty Evaluation Work Group, the VCCS Policy, guidelines that colleges should follow, and the review checklist by which college plans will be evaluated.  It also contains some sample materials that colleges can use for reference or adoption.

Summary of Elements and Design

A task force consisting of teaching faculty members, deans, academic vice-presidents, HR professionals, and others have been working for nearly two years to create a new evaluation system. The new proposal creates an environment for teaching faculty that promotes high performance and continuous improvement resulting in a world class faculty and increased student success. The proposed Development and Evaluation plan establishes standards and guidelines to be used by individual colleges as they design their campus evaluation plans for full-time teaching faculty. An Executive Summary of the Proposal is provided here. We will provide the updated revisions to the proposal below as this process moves forward.
